Territorial seismic vulnerability analysis of precast reinforced concrete buildings within Mugello industrial districts

Recent Italian seismic events highlighted the importance of increasing knowledge about seismicity and seismic risk. In this paper, the authors illustrate the initial stages of a methodology for the typological and seismic vulnerability analysis of precast reinforced concrete buildings in Mugello’s industrial districts. Following digital surveys, analyses of aerial views and on-field inspections, the most recurrent typologies were defined. Based on the results of the preliminary assessment, a structural analysis was performed on a representative case study building to evaluate the contribution of precast cladding panels on the seismic response of similar buildings and estimate the influence of alternative modelling strategies.
