PRISMA (Prima Rete Italiana per la Sorveglianza sistematica di Meteore ed Atmosfera) is a fireball network dedicated to the observation of fireballs and bolides and to the recovery of freshly-fallen meteorites on the Italian territory [1]. The project started in 2016 as a partner of the international collaboration FRIPON [2]. PRISMA involves more than 60 institutes and it is coordinated by INAF, the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics. To date, the network consists of almost 70 all-sky cameras and has observed more than 2500 bright meteors. The observations and data analysis of PRISMA [3,4,5] allowed for the recovery of two meteorites, namely Cavezzo [6] (01/01/2020, L5-an, 55.3 g) and Matera (14/02/2023, H5, 117.5 g). At least other 8 fireballs observed by PRISMA between 2017 and 2023 were determined to be meteorite-droppers and with a predicted strewn-field over Italy. In this contribution, we will report on the finding, analysis and classification of the Cavezzo and Matera meteorites, and on the current status of the network operations.

Abstract
In this contribution, we will report on the finding, analysis and classification of the Cavezzo and Matera meteorites, and on the current status of the network operations.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
