Letter to the Editor Regarding "Carotid-Cavernous Fistula After Transsphenoidal Surgery: A Rare but Challenging Complication"

In conclusion, the work provides an excellent overview of cavernous carotid fistulas occurring with an EEA and, more broadly, vascular complications. In this challenging field, we aimed to highlight another potential complication for the reader’s attention. The bilateral thalamic infarcts due to occlusion of the AoP is extremely rare with the EEA but comes with typical radiological findings and clinical presentation. The presence of the AoP is very difficult to detect in the preoperativeminvestigation. However, if an AoP stroke is suspected after the EEA, early postoperative MRI of the brain is crucial for proper diagnosis and treatment.
