The article briefly describes the theoretical fundamental cultural lines of modern public health within which is part of the strategy of the Health Impact Assessment (HIA); also it describes the main features of the HIA, the goals it sets and instrumental support it can make in the process of health-policy decisions. It underlines, lastly, the correlations with the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), but also its own specificity and value added in the analysis of complex network environment / health
