Abstract

The aspects of measurements and virtual measurements toward Industry 5.0 are becoming essential in energy management and energy efficiency research. Currently, both industry and academia are led by a growing need for efficient power monitoring solutions in several applications. This paper presents an innovative low-cost power quality meter built on a smart platform, offering a comprehensive framework from hardware development to user interface. Leveraging smart technology, the meter offers enhanced functionalities, optimal performance and a simple data analysis while maintaining affordability and reliability. The hardware development section outlines the design and integration of components tailored for accurate and reliable power measurement. Additionally, the paper details the implementation of a user-friendly interface, enabling intuitive access to real-time and historical power quality data. This innovative approach facilitates continuous integration into existing power systems and industrial systems, allowing a constant interchange of data with other SCADA and condition monitoring tools already available in the system/plant. This solution allows to empower users with valuable insights, optimizing energy usage and ensuring system reliability. Overall, the paper points out the importance of cost-effective yet complex power quality monitoring solutions in meeting the evolving demands of modern energy management.
