Dalla delocalizzazione al recupero cooperativistico dell’ex Gkn

The article investigates the cooperative recovery of private companies in Italy. In addition to companies’ bankruptcy due to economic or financial crisis and companies closure because of a lacking inter-generational transmission of the firms’ ownership, a third problematic scenario at the root of this phenomenon concerns the relocation processes. The struggle led by the former Gkn driveline workers in Campi Bisenzio is a paradigmatic case-study of the challenges related to the last scenario: this struggle has been strengthened by the participation of territory and by a new plan of reindustrialization aimed at the ecological conversion of the production.
