Reddito di transizione e liberazione del lavoro. Una concezione strategica del reddito di base

Most of the theoretical-political options that valorize the “eleutheric potential” of basic income end up disregarding workplaces, underestimating the persistent emancipatory potentialities associated with work and the drastic reduction in power relations resulting from an institutionalization of an unconditional basic income disconnected from union demands and claims. As I will show in the present article, no proposal regarding extra-labor income can be carefully weighed apart from its relationship to employment policies, proportionality of tax levy, etc., which can only apparently be considered as exogenous variables. Here I will try to articulate a politically instrumental conception of “transitional formative income”, which goes in the direction of labor liberation rather than liberation from work.
