This contribution aims to analyse the applicability of the HBIM methodology for the modelling, management and conservation of the Baptistery of Pistoia. The project starts with the digital survey, carried out using a 3D laser scanner unit, which allows for defining the geometry and giving a precise spatial location of each element. The data obtained has been processed to allow its use within Autodesk Revit. The following analysis has allowed defining that the use of the HBIM methodology allows making a photograph of the current state of the artefact that can be implemented over time with information about any kind of changes, creating a chronicle of the artefact that can facilitate studies and analyses for programmed preservation as well as allow a digital transmission over time, characterising HBIM as a new and effective field of application of the recommendations contained in the Venice Charter.

Abstract
This contribution aims to analyse the applicability of the HBIM methodology for the modelling, management and conservation of the Baptistery of Pistoia. The project starts with the digital survey, carried out using a 3D laser scanner unit, which allows for defining the geometry and giving a precise spatial location of each element. The data obtained has been processed to allow its use within Autodesk Revit. The following analysis has allowed defining that the use of the HBIM methodology allows making a photograph of the current state of the artefact that can be implemented over time with information about any kind of changes, creating a chronicle of the artefact that can facilitate studies and analyses for programmed preservation as well as allow a digital transmission over time, characterising HBIM as a new and effective field of application of the recommendations contained in the Venice Charter.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
