La decorazione di Francesco e Giovan Battista Natali nella chiesa di S. Giorgio Sopramuro a Piacenza

This study investigates the works of the quadratura painters between Tuscany and Emilia Romagna, with particular focus on the decorations made by the Cremonese Natali in the 18th century. It focuses on the documentation and analysis of the decorative apparatus of the Church of San Giorgio Sopramuro in Piacenza, using the integration of consolidated digital survey techniques. The study explores the interaction between real and virtual painted space, revealing the effectiveness of the perspective solutions adopted to create visual illusions that engage the observer. The operating methods of the Natali are explored, in particular the use and repetition of preparatory cartoons for the creation of complex and scenographic architectural perspectives.
