This article focuseson the representation of dwellings within the novel La Casa Seca(1916) by French writer Camille Mallarmé (1886-1960). Specifically, the essay seeks to analyze the relationship between the female subject and the practice of dwelling, which within the book materializes in a dual narrative topology: the space of birth, onthe one hand, and the space of identity obliteration, on the other. Nonetheless, we will attempt to account for the alternation between extensive and ostensive dwellings, which, in configuring a dichotomy of habitation (empowering and repressive), also allow for reflection on the "uninhabitability" of space and the consequent dissolution of the dwelling subject. In the case of women's literature, this prompts further reflections on the role of women and the domestic space as a normative space.

Abstract
In the case of women's literature, this prompts further reflections on the role of women and the domestic space as a normative space.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
