Desde Italia. Seis arquitecturas

Designing in a land as dense with stratifications as Italy entails assuming responsibility towards the community. The task that architecture must take on cannot, of course, be expressed in the anachronistic search for the re-proposition of lost or extinct somatic traits, but instead as an awa-reness of the value of our genetic heritage in the contemporary western context. This assumption of responsibility is necessary not for an autarkic affirmation of belonging, but as an indication of will in the debate on the city’s destiny. In describing the works built over a period of about thirty years on Italian soil, a path of compositional research is outlined, aimed at placing past, present and future in lively dialogue.
