The article dwells on the euro-communist conjuncture, reconstructing the essential features of the path that led the main western communist parties to define positions that tended to be common, highlighting their limitations and difficulties in (re)conceiving a theoretical-political renewal that was not ephemeral. At the same time, it is highlighted how the debate on Eurocommunist strategy crosses the discussion between two important Marxist intellectuals such as Louis Althusser and Nicos Poulantzas, sanctioning a divide between the Althusserian attempt to think of the irreducibility of politics to the state dimension (re-launching the concept of the dictatorship of the proletariat in an anti-reformist and anti-Stalinist key) and Poulantzas' focus on the material and permanent aspects that innervate statehood that led him to statehood that led him to bet on a positive dialectic between representative and direct democracy with a view to the constitution of a democratic socialism Finally, it is significant to observe how a series of questions and critical interventions on the existence or non-existence of a Marxist theory of the state and on what relationship there was between democracy and socialism, characterised, precisely at the same juncture, Norberto Bobbio's liberal-socialist positions. They called for a realistic outline of the feasibility of a possible socialism. A task, on the whole, unfulfilled, but still as urgent as ever

Abstract
A task, on the whole, unfulfilled, but still as urgent as ever| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
