Fever after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) may lead to extensive diagnostic work-up and prolonged hospitalization [1]. Only a few studies have investigated the prevalence and nature of fever after TAVI and attempted to distinguish between infective and non-infective causes [1–4]. Some studies suggest that fever during the first 72 h after TAVI may derive from systemic inflammatory reaction syndrome rather than from an infection [3,4].

Abstract
Fever after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) may lead to extensive diagnostic work-up and prolonged hospitalization [1]. Only a few studies have investigated the prevalence and nature of fever after TAVI and attempted to distinguish between infective and non-infective causes [1–4]. Some studies suggest that fever during the first 72 h after TAVI may derive from systemic inflammatory reaction syndrome rather than from an infection [3,4].I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
