In conclusion, the APULEIO study shows that frailty is a predisability state also in AF and VTE cases. Frailty and disability can be diagnosed and, at least in part, reverted through the multidisciplinary and personalized approach typical of the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment. Disease-specific interventions - in our experience oral anticoagulant therapy - as a part of a more complex management strategy, can exert a positive action on PROs, and, through the reduction of stroke and DVT/PE relapses, hinder disability progression.

Abstract
In conclusion, the APULEIO study shows that frailty is a predisability state also in AF and VTE cases. Frailty and disability can be diagnosed and, at least in part, reverted through the multidisciplinary and personalized approach typical of the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment. Disease-specific interventions - in our experience oral anticoagulant therapy - as a part of a more complex management strategy, can exert a positive action on PROs, and, through the reduction of stroke and DVT/PE relapses, hinder disability progression.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
