Magia e Gender nei romances di Shakespeare: The Tempest e The Winter's Tale

Il seguente contributo si propone di indagare i rapporti fra magia e gender all’interno di due celebri romance shakespeariani, The Tempest e The Winter’s Tale. In particolare, verranno analizzati il tipo di magia impiegata, così come la sua realizzazione, il ruolo di chi la esercita e le interrelazioni tra i diversi personaggi, mettendo in luce i caratteri di continuità e discontinuità delle due opere. The paper aims to investigate the relationships between magic and gender in two of Shakespeare’s most famous romances, namely The Tempest and The Winter’s Tale. The analysis will encompass the nature of the magic produced, the role of the practitioner, and the interconnections among the characters, highlighting similarities and differences between the two plays.
