In the original manuscript, sample TUS05 (Genbank accession number OR166594) was assigned to haplogroup IB and identified as a mitogenomic variant of the control region haplotype CC-A1.1. Consequently, the corresponding mitogenomic haplotype was named CC-A1.1.1. The 800 bp control region haplotype of TUS05, however, does not correspond to CC-A1.1, nor the 380 bp control region haplotype of TUS05 corresponds to CC-A1. According to the Archie Carr Center for Sea Turtles Research database (https://accstr.ufl.edu/resources/mtdna-sequences/), the control region haplotype described for TUS05 was yet to be described. We therefore renamed the mitogenomic haplotype of TUS05 as A79.1.1. Tables 2 and 4 and Table S1 should read CC-A79.1.1 and CC-A79.1 instead of CC-A1.1.1 and CC-A1.1, respectively.
