The first results of the floristic collections underway at the Roman Amphitheater of Arezzo, an urban archaeological area so far unexplored from a botanical point of view, are presented. The floristic analysis highlights an almost equivalent division between therophytes and hemicryptophytes, the former present above all in the walls, the latter more abundant in the meadows. Alongside elements of a certain naturalistic interest, including some orchids and some species present in the regional attention lists, these first investigations also highlight various critical elements, such as the presence of woody species with a high impact index for the good state of conservation of the wall structures, which will be worth monitoring and eventually managing.
