Plans for the Elimination of Architectural Barriers (PEBAs) are planning tools aimed at identifying, classifying and overcoming situations of impediment, risk and obstacle to the use of public buildings and spaces by weak users. The article illustrates the research project that the DIDA Department of Architecture, University of Florence, put together for the definition of the accessibility plan for the Cisanello University Hospital in Pisa. The research was developed in phases, defining the operational methodology and tools with the main purpose of producing an intervention model that indicates the methods of analysis and evaluation of intervention priorities and design strategies that facilitate user accessibility of healthcare environments.
