The present essay intends to verify, from a theoretical and historical standpoint, the virtual positioning of the Società Italiana Pathé Baby (Sipb), and the role of the Pathé-Baby 9,5mm film format, within the Italian educational context around 1930 (1925-1934 circa). In order to do so, it will cover the self-branding strategies as they appear on the Società’s magazines (the «Bollettino» and the «Cinedilettante») and its relationship with national institutions. Building from this groundwork, it will later assess Prof. Guzzanti’s work (1928-1931 circa), collaborating with Sipb Managing Director Lamberto Ristori for a new branch of the Pathé-Baby catalogue dedicated to the Italian market and Italian schools
