St Peter’s Parish Centre in Klippan belongs to the very last period of production of the Swedish architect Sigurd Lewerentz. The architecture seems to reflect, on the one hand, the wish to create a space that is capable of bringing to the surface certain deep vibrations of the human soul that are too often drowned by the high-pitched sounds produced by modern society, and to embody, on the other, the most rigorous design practice, the heightening of materials and the mastering of details. These two registers working alongside each other produce an unexpected and estranging space.

Abstract
St Peter’s Parish Centre in Klippan belongs to the very last period of production of the Swedish architect Sigurd Lewerentz. The architecture seems to reflect, on the one hand, the wish to create a space that is capable of bringing to the surface certain deep vibrations of the human soul that are too often drowned by the high-pitched sounds produced by modern society, and to embody, on the other, the most rigorous design practice, the heightening of materials and the mastering of details.
