Remigrazione. Un’altra parola per orientare il pensiero sulle migrazioni

L'articolo esamina l'emergere del nuovo termine "remigrazione" legato alle questioni migratorie, ne traccia l'origine, la diffusione nelle principali lingue europee e l'affermazione nel linguaggio della politica e nei media, mettendone in luce gli aspetti semantici discriminatori e intolleranti nei confronti dei migranti. Si evidenzia come l'adozione di questo neologismo, fortemente assonante a parole note (come "emigrazione" di cui è un derivato), porti con sé richiami molto forti a pratiche aggressive di politica migratoria, come le espulsioni e i respingimenti. The article examines the emergence of the new term “remigration” in relation to migration issues, tracing its origins, its spread in the main European languages, and its establishment in political and media discourse, highlighting its discriminatory and intolerant semantic aspects towards migrants. It highlights how the adoption of this neologism, which is strongly reminiscent of familiar words (such as “emigration,” from which it is derived), carries with it very strong references to aggressive migration policy practices, such as expulsions and rejections.
