Amplification effects in the seismic area of Mugello, Tuscany, Italy: characterization of seismic and geotechnical parameters and preliminary analyses

Past earthquakes in the Mugello area have clearly shown the local geological and geotechnical conditions have an important influence on the damage distribution, due to the presence of thick fluvio-lacustrine deposits and of weak rocks and soils. The present research has been addressed to establish a framework of knowledge in seismological, geological and geotechnical fields, which can provide a basis for more elaborated response analyses
