Multicentric retrospective observational study conducted at two tertiary referral centers — Palagi Hospital (AUSL Toscana Centro, Florence, Italy) and the Royal Victoria Infirmary Hospital (Newcastle upon Tyne, UK) — aimed to evaluate the in vivo alignment of the second-generation implantable miniature telescope (SING-IMT™; Samsara Vision, Inc.) in patients with end-stage age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Using swept-source anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT; CASIA2 and Anterion systems), the study assessed telescope decentration and tilt, configuration relative to the iris plane, cornea-to-telescope distance, and endothelial cell count after 12 months. Results demonstrated stable in-the-bag fixation of the SING-IMT™, with decentration and tilt values comparable to conventional intraocular lenses and a mean endothelial cell loss of 13%, supporting the long-term safety and positional stability of the device.
