The paper analyses some critical aspects related to the implementation of the differentiated regionalism provided for in Article 116 of the Constitution, in the light of the Implementing Law no. 86/2024 and the Constitutional Court decision no. 192/2024, with particular reference to the impact on local authorities. The paper highlights how these legislative and jurisprudential developments help to clarify some of the many doubts related to the role and consequences of this process for local authorities, but they do not resolve all of them and new ones are emerging.
