Renin-angiotensin system inhibition and risk of dementia in hypertensive patients. An old dilemma

Editorial to accompany: Antihypertensive drug classes and risk of incident dementia. The effect of ACE inhibitors and Angiotensin II receptor antagonists on the incidence of dementia is unclear. Angiotensin-receptor blockers reduce the risk of incident all-cause dementia, especially Vascular but not Alzheimer Dementia. Big data management may be an opportunity for future studies in the field.
