Furthermore, the study underscores the need to develop and standardize environmental assessment criteria for electronic components embedded in clothing, with the aim of promoting sustainable electronics and fostering the adoption of circular economy practices. Such strategies are essential to ensure that the future development of smart textiles aligns with broader environmental and social objectives. Projects such as AirSuit demonstrate the potential application of wearable technologies in fields including medicine, industry, sports, and the metaverse, revealing new usage paradigms, significant performance improvements, and the possibility of unprecedented immersive experiences.
