Abstract
This paper aims at testifying the current importance of morphotypes in defining structural invariants and generative principles of historic buildings. CHMLab (Department of Architecture - DIDA) carried out the research on behalf of the Municipality of Reggello (Florence) to identify the useful best practices aimed at offering a guidance for the intervention policies to safeguard the historic landscape and, in particular, the rural building heritage that constitute an integral part. The research allowed the testing of an innovative workflow, in which the documentation of buildings, the recognition of morphotypes and the reconstruction of the local morphogenetic process played a fundamental role in the development of a useful cognitive framework to support future transformations. Whilst every single area has its own identity, this method could be implemented in other contexts where it is necessary to critically combine change with the protection of a legacy.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
