Starting from an analysis of the current redefinition of global power hierarchies – and also in light of the early moves of Trump’s second presidency – this contribution seeks to answer two closely interrelated questions: to what extent can the “teamwork” between constitutional law and geopolitics help interpret the ongoing transition? And what geopolitical role can law play in the context of a shift of power? To this end, the essay highlights the analytical relevance – also within the field of constitutional law – of some heuristic tools drawn from geopolitics: geopolitical representations, conditioning factors and the variable of actors’ “rank” in the international system.

Abstract
Starting from an analysis of the current redefinition of global power hierarchies – and also in light of the early moves of Trump’s second presidency – this contribution seeks to answer two closely interrelated questions: to what extent can the “teamwork” between constitutional law and geopolitics help interpret the ongoing transition? And what geopolitical role can law play in the context of a shift of power? To this end, the essay highlights the analytical relevance – also within the field of constitutional law – of some heuristic tools drawn from geopolitics: geopolitical representations, conditioning factors and the variable of actors’ “rank” in the international system.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
