This study examines a canonic three-voice composition preserved in the manuscript Florence, BNCF Panciatichi 26. The poetic text derives from an adaptation of the first stanza of the song Quant je voi lou dous tans venir by René de Trie (RS 1484; L 220,2). The addition of a metrically autonomous refrain aligns the text with the formal characteristics of the French rotrouenge, while, from the perspective of musical structure, it enables the composer to engage with the conventions of the madrigal genre.

Abstract
This study examines a canonic three-voice composition preserved in the manuscript Florence, BNCF Panciatichi 26. The poetic text derives from an adaptation of the first stanza of the song Quant je voi lou dous tans venir by René de Trie (RS 1484; L 220,2). The addition of a metrically autonomous refrain aligns the text with the formal characteristics of the French rotrouenge, while, from the perspective of musical structure, it enables the composer to engage with the conventions of the madrigal genre.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
