Law through the ninth art: a new method of legal storytelling - This paper analyzes the ability of comics - whose functioning is based on the enhancement of the word-image combination - to influence, positively or negatively, society's view of law. In doing so, it focuses on the evolution of these ways of using images and text through which it will be possible to identify a new mode of legal storytelling. On this basis, reference will be made to three types of use of the aforementioned word-image combination that have succeeded over time: the artistic-literary strand of "emblematics", dating from the second half of the 16th century, used it to deal with moral issues; the magazines of 19th-century used it to convey a satirical message; and comic strips, which emerged between the two world wars, used it not only for desecrating purposes, but to provide members of society with reflection that would bring them closer to the law.
