Le Plotin d'Eusèbe: réflexions sur l'histoire du texte du Traité Enn. IV 7 (2) Sur l'immortalité de l'âme

In this study, building on a fresh analysis of available data, I try to give an answer to two questions that have often been discussed in the field of Plotinian studies, namely: a) Was Enneadic treatise iv 7 (2) On the Immortality of the Soul divided into two parts, at some point in the history of the text? b) Is Eusebius working on such divided version of the treatise when he quotes two excerpts of it in book xv of his Praeparatio evangelica? The reconstructions proposed by Paul Henry, Pavlos Kalligas and Marie-Odile Goulet-Cazé are of course presented and examined. New arguments related to the production, preservation, and transmission of ancient texts in Late Antiquity are also brought up for discussion.
