The Florence Cuneiform Project, sponsored by the University of Florence and directed by Amalia Catagnoti, focuses on the re-edition of the Near Eastern collection of the National Archaeological Museum of Florence. The project integrates philological analysis with a comprehensive re-examination of the tablets as archaeological artifacts, addressing often overlooked metatextual features such as sealings, impressions of textiles or tools, and layout characteristics. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the study aims to reconstruct the tablets’ production context, administrative use, and archiving practices. This paper presents the current state of the project and discusses preliminary results obtained through photogrammetric documentation and 3D modeling carried out within the PRIN PNRR project Dialogues between Ancient Western Asia and Us (DiWA).
