The historical city of Gubbio lies in a seismically active area; the earthquake of 29th april 1984 demonstrated the importance of protecting the entire artistic heritage of the town and in particular the appropriateness of conducting an extensive survey to asses the seismic risk of ordinary buildings which are not earthquake-resistent.The aalyses carried out and the principal results obtained are described.
