Semi-parametric estimates of willingness to pay (WTP) distributions for sustainable food attributes are retrieved from data from a stated choice experiment conducted in Germany, Italy and the UK. The focal product is würstel sausages (aka ‘bratwurst’ or ‘hot dog’ sausages). Empirical findings show such attributes are differently appreciated across countries, at least in some of features. The choice data are analysed using a WTP version of the logit-mixed-logit model, which allows for fixed and random coefficients while accommodating correlation effects. The advantages of the model proposed are compared against the standard mixed logit model.

Abstract
Semi-parametric estimates of willingness to pay (WTP) distributions for sustainable food attributes are retrieved from data from a stated choice experiment conducted in Germany, Italy and the UK. The focal product is würstel sausages (aka ‘bratwurst’ or ‘hot dog’ sausages). Empirical findings show such attributes are differently appreciated across countries, at least in some of features. The choice data are analysed using a WTP version of the logit-mixed-logit model, which allows for fixed and random coefficients while accommodating correlation effects. The advantages of the model proposed are compared against the standard mixed logit model.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
