The Cultural Protection Cloud 9 project (CPC9), launched in 2025 through a collaboration between the University of Florence and the Diocesan Museum of Pitigliano, aims to enhance the historical landscape of the Tufo Area. Its goal is to strengthen the connection between the museum and the extensive heritage dispersed throughout the territory, using a holistic methodology that considers both tangible and intangible values. The research is structured in two main phases. The first phase focuses on data collection and includes archival research and digital surveys of the sites involved. The second phase is dedicated to storytelling and dissemination. The collected data is transformed into interpretative tools that are accessible to a broad audience. The project employs innovative technologies such as 3D surveying and eXtended Reality (XR) to document, represent, and communicate heritage in an engaging way. The aim is to create visual narratives that contextualize cultural assets, such as the Cathedral of Sovana, and highlight their historical and cultural relationships with the surrounding landscape. Inspired by the concept of the “diffused museum” and by Object-Based Learning (OBL), CPC9 seeks to transform the museum into a cultural infrastructure that connects communities, institutions, and landscapes. This approach helps overcome the physical limitations of traditional museum structures and makes heritage more accessible and meaningful to a wider audience.

Abstract
This approach helps overcome the physical limitations of traditional museum structures and makes heritage more accessible and meaningful to a wider audience.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
