Messina was destroyed by the earthquake of 1908 and the Allied bombings of 1943, was rebuilt by the offices of the Civil Engineers and a series of original documents have been preserved to date. Today, any intervention aimed at the safe conservation of the built heritage, must be based on a thorough knowledge of the building, in addition to direct relief and objective analysis is also essential a thorough documentary research. The study of the original projects helps the understanding of the building both from the architectural point of view, but especially from the structural point of view. The aim is to illustrate the results of the research carried out on a series of popular buildings built in the immediate post-war period but designed in the early 1940s. From the documentation it is clearly understandable the structure of the building, formed by the set of reinforced concrete frames and brick walls. From the graphic drawings of 1941 we can understand the architectural articulation of the buildings, today compromised by the various successive additions. The results of the critical analysis of the documentary information are useful to be able to work on the similar building of which there is no original documentation.
