This article examines the transformation of «national interest» into «geopolitical interest» within Italian constitutional jurisprudence, specifically following Judgment No. 192 of 2024. It analyses how the Constitutional Court utilizes the «geopolitical argument» to set new limits on differentiated autonomy, centralizing strategic functions. The findings highlight a shift from normative legal constraints to an economic-driven paradigm. Ultimately, the article warns that this trend risks «elasticizing» the Constitution, potentially prioritizing contingent government interests over parliamentary centrality and fundamental constitutional values.
