This study investigates the role of the GLRX3-BOLA2 complex in [2Fe-2S] cluster transfer to the CIA scaffold protein NUBP1. The results show that both GLRX3 and GLRX3-BOLA2 support the formation of the same canonical [4Fe-4S] cluster with comparable transfer efficiency, while BOLA2 may contribute to cluster stabilization by modulating electron transfer under specific cellular conditions.
