L’azione di fecondità. Una prospettiva qualitativa sul processo decisionale riproduttivo nel quadro del "Narrative Framework"

This paper, theoretically grounded in the Narrative Framework, offers one of the first qualitative explorations of fertility-related actions, examined through socially structured personal narratives. The study aims to identify the factors perceived by couples as most significant when deciding to conceive, to determine whether there are interpretative differences in how individuals narrate their fertility experiences, to observe the synchronisation of the various stages leading to reproduction, and to understand how specific shared perceptions within the couple can take on a guiding role in the decision-making process. The findings highlight that fertility-related action constitutes a complex and non-linear process, shaped by a multiplicity of factors with different temporalities. It is rooted in individuals’ subjective interpretations of situational conditions, both past and present, and is further informed by future anticipations that couples continuously negotiate in their everyday lives.
