The prototype of a device created for seed scarification is described. A tape lapping machine with a container fixed upon it is the essential part of the device. Seeds placed inside the container are forced to move in circles, thus repeatedly rubbing on a moving abrasive tape, and tests carried out an samples of seeds of three different species - Caesalpinia spinosa, Laburnum anagyroides, Robinia pseudoacacia - have proved the effectiveness of this device and have helped to calculate the time required for the process.
