The Arno River is the main stream of Tuscany, Italy. The river evolution was largely influenced by interventions at catchment scale. A chronological summary of such human interventions is reported. During the last decades, the river exploitation increased very largely: this remarkably augmented riverbed degradation and channel geometry adjustments.
