----- Traduzione inglese: This contribution analyzes Leon Battista Alberti,s Grammatichetta in the light of the linguistic situation in Florence in the mid-fifteenth century, characterized by an extreme degree of mobility and polymorphy. Among other things, this work highlights some individual problematic aspects of Alberti's little treatise, which have hitherto been left somewhat in the dark: these include the definition of lingua toscana attributed to the language being described (which is actually structurally Florentine) and some noteworthy paradigmatic choices, for example in the conjugation of the verb ‘essere’, the precocious option for sei instead of sè. The study also points out some extra-Tuscan lexical terms, including zembo for 'back of the human body', which is doubtless of northern Italian origin.

Abstract

----- Traduzione inglese: This contribution analyzes Leon Battista Alberti,s Grammatichetta in the light of the linguistic situation in Florence in the mid-fifteenth century, characterized by an extreme degree of mobility and polymorphy.
