Abstract

The units most represented in the farming landscape of Tuscany, utilized for sowing, are those characterized by prevalently fine-textured soils and substrata. As sample areas, set in different morpho-climatic environment, Valdera (the Botro Cavalcanti basin in Vicarello) and the Mugello (the Crocioni area, in Fagna) were chosen. From the analysis of their main features, the incidence of certain factors, such as climate, soil, crops, cropping practices and the typology of the erosive processes in the evolution of the landscape, is made clear.
