Abstract
In this paper we propose a new etymology for gr. νόσφι considered as the instr. pl. of a radical noun *νώς, νοhός from ie. *nes- ‘to return’. Evidences are given from Homeric corpus in order to show the process of grammaticalization that makes νόσφι change from case form to adverbial and prepositional status. We analyze the Homeric use of verbs from ie. *nes- including their actional values in order to explain some idiosyncratic uses and to give account to such a reconstruction.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
