In the area of Florence, cypress is very common and it is responsible of the higher concentration of airborne pollen detectable in urban atmosphere. Furthermore Cupressaceae family has been recognized as a unique source of an increasing number of winter pollinosis in Mediterranean countries, the aim of the study was to carry out a satisfactory analysis of male cypress phenology, investigating the correlations with airborne pollen concentration; the overall aim was to settle a phenological model to be used in pollen forecasting activities.

Abstract
