The effects of instrumentation mass loading on a structure were investigated by analyzing the errors introduced in an experimental statistical energy analysis (SEA) model built from frequency response functions (FRFs). The results of the analysis were validated by comparison with experimental data. Several experimental acquisitions were performed using different instrumentation sets, each of which intended to highlight a particular measurement error. The results showed that the model's coupling loss factors were never affected by the measurement errors, whereas the other parameters could be affected by the type of measuring instrumentation selected.

Abstract
The effects of instrumentation mass loading on a structure were investigated by analyzing the errors introduced in an experimental statistical energy analysis (SEA) model built from frequency response functions (FRFs). The results of the analysis were validated by comparison with experimental data. Several experimental acquisitions were performed using different instrumentation sets, each of which intended to highlight a particular measurement error. The results showed that the model's coupling loss factors were never affected by the measurement errors, whereas the other parameters could be affected by the type of measuring instrumentation selected.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
