The paper focuses the attention on an interdisciplinary research programme concerning the preservation of the double calotte dome of the Treasure of St. Gennaro’s Chapel in the cathedral of Naples. Recurring to the correlation of bibliographical, archival and iconographical documentation with a precision survey and numerical analysis (3D F.E.M. analysis based on a continuum masonry elastic material), the contribution aims to demonstrate a methodological and interdisciplinary experience which, making use of a deep informative base, puts in evidence structural ‘weak points’ and problematic nodes for the conservation of the baroque monument.

Abstract
The paper focuses the attention on an interdisciplinary research programme concerning the preservation of the double calotte dome of the Treasure of St. Gennaro’s Chapel in the cathedral of Naples. Recurring to the correlation of bibliographical, archival and iconographical documentation with a precision survey and numerical analysis (3D F.E.M. analysis based on a continuum masonry elastic material), the contribution aims to demonstrate a methodological and interdisciplinary experience which, making use of a deep informative base, puts in evidence structural ‘weak points’ and problematic nodes for the conservation of the baroque monument.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
