Reliability, maintenance and warranty

The aim of this paper is to make an overview of the most important reliability analysis techniques. Another purpose of this memory brief review is to highlight the links between Reliability, Maintenance and Warranty; so we will speak of the relationship between Reliability and Maintenance and then of that one betweenits relationship with Reliability and Product Warranty. In particular for what concerns the first pointas far as the first point is concerned we concentrate on describing the RCM analysis and we briefly explain how this systematic approach allows us to gain worthy maintenance policies. Even a right correct warranty management is involved with reliability performances of the items sold. A couple of examples will help to understand the deep link between reliability and warrantyies costs. Afterwards we have talked about software used for R&M analyses and we have schematized their features. Finally we focused on the importance of knowing understanding reliability concepts to develop effective management of complex systems.
