BT patients have a similar frequency of LISA ( presence oflatex specific IgEantibodies) as well aslatex IgE medi-ated allergy (LIMA) than BD, andtherefore they should not be consideredat risk for latex allergy despite theirpotential increased exposure. Furtherstudies are needed to establish if theseresults are due to the altered immuneresponse of BT patients or if the level ofexposure to latex is not high enough toinduce sensitization.
