La vegetazione della Riserva Naturale Monti Rognosi (Arezzo, Toscana) ed i suoi aspetti di interesse botanico-conservazionistico

The vegetation of the Monti Rognosi Natural Reserve (Eastern Tuscany) and its botanical conservation aspects. A vegetation survey of the Monti Rognosi Natural Reserve, an important ultramafic area, was carried out by means of phytosociological relevés and of literature data analyses. The survey led to the recognition of three main ultramafic vegetation types (garigues, xeric grasslands and shrublands) and other communities (semimesophilous shrublands, mixed woods with Quercus cerris and Ostrya carpinifolia woods with Quercus pubescens; riaparian woods with Alnus glutinosa). A vegetation map is reported. Finally we point out the high naturalistic value of this area by listing floristic species and vegetation habitats of conservation relevance.
